What are you doing to make a difference in the profession, your community, the world.

As President of the NJCPA, I am taking the initiative to meet with many of our 15,000+ members.  With the NJCPA, we are hosting Dine with the President events throughout our state, allowing 10 to 12 solo and small firms to get together and discuss their fears, needs, and ideas.  In addition, I am meeting with as many mid to larger firms in the State to listen to what keeps these firm leaders up at night.  As a membership organization, we need to pivot to be able to support the varying generations and needs of all our members.

Favorite books/websites/speakers:

Brene Brown: Daring Greatly

What do you see yourself doing professionally in 10 years?

In 10 years, I see myself as continuing to serve as the managing partner of SKC, working with an amazing team to raise the bar for ourselves, our clients, and our entire team.  We will have seen growth in all areas, but most importantly in ourselves over that decade.

What accounting conferences do you normally attend?

NJCPA Annual Convention and Expo; occasional Upstream Academy conferences; AICPA Council meetings.

What websites/magazines do you use to keep up on news of the accounting profession?

I read the Journal of Accountancy, the NJCPA magazine, and Wired each month to stay on top of trends economically, in the profession and technically.
