ProSeries Fixed Asset Manager from Intuit is well suited for accounting professionals that offer fixed asset and depreciation management for their clients. Designed to integrate with other ProSeries applications, the product can also be used as a stand-alone asset and depreciation management solution.

ProSeries Fixed Assets includes an intuitive user interface that is easily customized to suit the needs of the user. Users can easily import asset data from a variety of third-party applications, or from existing clients in other ProSeries tax applications.

When accessing a client file, all client assets are immediately viewable. Adding as asset is easy, with a unique number assigned to each asset automatically, or users can enter their own custom number. Users can also transfer client files from a previous year’s version of ProSeries Fixed Asset Manager, eliminating the need to re-enter data. Users can also enter additional data for each asset, including the purchase order number, warranty expiration date, if any, and the option to link the asset to the client’s tax return in ProSeries tax applications. The product also handles asset splits, disposal of multiple assets, copy and deletion of assets as well as asset transfers. Users can also update information on multiple assets simultaneously, and group assets into commonly used categories for easier management.

ProSeries Fixed Asset Manager supports up to six books; Book, State, Federal, AMT, ACE, and Other. Also included are five user-defined classifications for tracking assets. The product also offers more than thirty depreciation methods including MACRS, ACRS, Amortization, various Straight-Line, Adjusted Straight-Line, Declining Balance and Sum of Years’ Digit.

ProSeries Fixed Asset Manager includes more than 35 pre-defined reports, with all reports easily customizable to suit the needs of the user. The product also includes a report editor that allows users to easily edit existing reports, and a built-in report writer is available for those that wish to create custom reports from scratch. Reports available in ProSeries Fixed Asset Manager include Asset Information Schedule, Asset Disposition, Depreciation Expense by Category, Depreciation Schedule by Tax System, ACE Adjusted Calculations, AMT Adjusted Calculations, as well as numerous amortization and GL reports. ProSeries Fixed Asset Manager will also print tax worksheets for Forms 4562, 4626, and 4797. Users can also create report sets and save them for easy future access.

ProSeries Fixed Asset Manager offers complete integration with ProSeries Professional applications, making it easy to transfer asset and depreciation data to any ProSeries tax program. Users can also easily import assets from other ProSeries applications as well.

ProSeries Fixed Asset Manager allows users to easily import or export asset data in a variety of formats, including Microsoft Word and Excel, as an ASCII file, or as a CSV file.

ProSeries Fixed Asset Management offers a user’s guide which can be accessed through the online help function. ProSeries Fixed Asset Management also offers a variety of training and support options for all ProSeries applications.  Users can easily access product support directly from the application, with support accessible via telephone or email. All support costs are included in the price of the product.

ProSeries Fixed Asset Manager is best suited for accounting professionals that currently or plan to use other ProSeries applications. The product does offer good import and export functionality, making it suitable to be used as a stand-alone application as well. Fixed Asset Manager currently runs $307 and can be directly downloaded from the Intuit ProConnect website. Those interested should note that the product is only available as a download.
