AuditFile, Inc., a maker of cloud-based audit automation solutions, has launched its new AuditFile Report Writer Toolbox, a free add-in for Word available in the Microsoft Office Store. The new add-in gives A&A professionals greater flexibility in building dynamic financial statements, reports, schedules and other workpapers by linking directly to relevant data in the AuditFile trial balance tool.

This add-in extends AuditFile’s integration with Microsoft Office and works in Word 2016 or later for PC, Word for Mac, and Word Online. AuditFile users can add the AuditFile Report Writer Toolbox easily from the Add-Ins tab within Word. In 2017, AuditFile announced that it joined the Microsoft Cloud Storage Partner Program, and released integration with Microsoft Office Online, as well as a similar add-in for Excel.
The AuditFile Report Writer Toolbox allows users to connect data from trial balances and leadsheets to Word to dynamically create custom financial statements and reports in AuditFile. For example, an AuditFile user can easily link content in a Word financial statement or report template to a leadsheet balance.
Professionals using AuditFile can create their own library of custom templates that link to information in AuditFile, including prior and current year final account balances, prior year and current year final leadsheet balances, and program area balances (i.e. cash, A/R, investments, etc.). Then, users can dynamically create and customize reports and other workpapers from templates within the AuditFile cloud environment using the Office Online integration built into the platform.
