New England accounting firm BerryDunn has 34 participants in this year’s TD Beach to Beacon 10K Road Race. Of the firm’s total runners, 17 will compete in the “Business to Business Challenge” in the spirit of friendly competition among local businesses.
This marks the 6th year that BerryDunn employees have taken part in the Beach to Beacon. The firm supports its runners as part of a broader wellness initiative that involves office “steps competitions,” walking and running information, and healthy encouragement among peers.
As Grant Ballantyne, a Manager in BerryDunn’s Health Care/Not-for-Profit Group says: “Each year we put together a team of runners and some of us train together, share training stories with each other, and give tips and advice during the weeks leading up to the race. The constant cheering and words of encouragement along the roads in Cape Elizabeth is what brings me back each year!”
The Beach to Beacon reflects BerryDunn’s own commitment to energetic community involvement. The 6.2-mile run, starting at Crescent Beach and ending at Portland Head Light, attracts over 6,000 runners from across the country and the world. It will take place on August 2, 2014, in Cape Elizabeth, Maine.
