The Masters Golf Tournament – By the Numbers

The Masters, one of the world's most prestigious golf tournaments, starts this week. Held annually in Augusta, Georgia, since 1932, the event is more than just four days of the competition between the world's best golfers, it also has a very wide reach economically.

The Masters, one of the world's most prestigious golf tournaments, starts this week. Held annually in Augusta, Georgia, since 1932, the event is more than just four days of the competition between the world's best golfers, it also has a very wide reach economically.

In Georgia alone, the Masters helps create or support more than 57,000 jobs and contributes $125 million dollars to the state and local economy, according to the financial website WalletHub, which has developed the below infographic. And while spectator tickets are pretty expensive (one-day tickets cost more than $1,400), concession prices are cheaper than you're likely to find at any professional sporting event, with coffee and sodas costing less than $2.00 and beer starting at only $3.00.

Users in the U.S. have reported that the popular social media site TikTok has gone offline as of Saturday evening (Jan. 18, 2025). The app was at the center of a recent U.S. Supreme Court case that involved a law passed by Congress last year.
