Illinois CPA Society Partners with Avalara for Sales Tax Data
The Illinois CPA Society and sales tax automation provider Avalara, Inc. have formed a strategic alliance that gives the state's professional association of Certified Public Accountants no-cost access to up-to-date sales and use tax (SUT) and valued added tax (VAT) tools, and related resources to better assist their clients and/or their employers in this rapidly changing regulatory environment.

The Illinois CPA Society and sales tax automation provider Avalara, Inc. have formed a strategic alliance that gives the state's professional association of Certified Public Accountants no-cost access to up-to-date sales and use tax (SUT) and valued added tax (VAT) tools, and related resources to better assist their clients and/or their employers in this rapidly changing regulatory environment.
The Illinois CPA Society has more than 23,000 members, including CPAs and other finance professionals.
In addition to the sales and use tax data, ICPAS member accounting firms will be able to take advantage of exclusive partnering programs that Avalara will make available to help them further differentiate their services.
“Alliances with key software solution providers like Avalara are especially important to our CPA members, both in public practice and in business and industry, who need more information in technical areas such as sales and use tax reporting and compliance,” said Todd Shapiro, President and CEO of the Society. “We also believe that Avalara’s cloud-based, software-as-a-service (SaaS) business model, will help our members become even more efficient and productive in dealing with their clients and customers in the future.”
