Avalara Forms Strategic Alliance With BKR International

BKR member firms get instant access to business-critical SUT and VAT Information

Avalara.com has formed a strategic alliance with BKR International, a global alliance of 150 leading accounting and consulting firms operating in over 70 countries around the world. Avalara is a developer of cloud-based sales tax and compliance automation services, with headquarters on Bainbridge Island, Washington, and nearly 400 staff at nine offices in the U.S. and abroad.

The alliance focuses on the timely sharing of critical sales and use tax (SUT) and value added tax (VAT) information that accounting providers require to meet the needs of their clients. In addition, BKR member firms will be able to take advantage of specific partnering programs that Avalara makes available to accounting firms to help them expand and differentiate their services.

“We are very pleased to enter this important new relationship with Avalara,” said Maureen Schwartz, executive director of BKR. “The regulations and challenges surrounding U.S. sales and use tax and value added tax issues globally, are constantly changing. Our member firms will benefit greatly by having ready access to Avalara’s broad base of expertise and experience.”

“Our new relationship with BKR International is important to Avalara in several ways,” said Marshal Kushniruk, Avalara’s executive vice president for Global Business Development. “Not only will we create new opportunities to serve clients in North America, but forming relationships with BKR’s international firms will help drive our global expansion strategies as well. In addition, all BKR member firms will get access to up-to-date SUT and VAT tools and educational resources to better assist their clients and enhance their trusted advisor status.”
