Minnesotans have a good sense of humor. And that’s definitely a positive trait to have during tax season.
Why am I singling out the Land of 10,000 Lakes? Because the Pioneer Press, the major newspaper serving the Minneapolis-St. Paul metro area, is sponsoring a “Sexy Accountant Contest.”
From the paper:
Let’s face it. Filing your income tax return isn’t pretty.
But that’s no reason why your accountant shouldn’t be.
Which is why during this tax season the Pioneer Press aims to shatter the stereotype of the boring number crunching CPA by taking nominations for our Sexy Accountant Contest.
If you someone eligible (probably has to be a Minnesotan), you can nominate them by sending an email to writer Richard Chin (rchin@pioneerpress.com). Be sure to tell them how the preofessional (tax pro or accountant), “can really heat up the spreadsheets.” They also ask for a photo and contact information. The deadline for submitting nominations for the newspaper’s contest is March 31. They will be awarding two, a man and a woman, with the title Minnesota’s Sexiest Accountant, and will publish the article in print and online on April 14.
