Massachusetts’ Oldest Public Accounting Firm Celebrates 100 Years in Practice

Waldron H. Rand & Company, P.C., one of the oldest public accounting firms in Massachusetts, is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year.

One of the oldest public accounting firms in Massachusetts is turning 100 years old this year. Waldron H. Rand & Company, P.C. was founded in 1912 by Waldron H. Rand, founding member and president of the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants and president of the American Institute of CPAs’ predecessor.

“Reaching 100 years is a great milestone for Waldron Rand,” said William L. Kams, Waldron Rand Shareholder & President. “Founder Waldron H. Rand’s service philosophy and dedication to the continual advancement of the industry is embedded in the firm’s culture today. This tradition of excellence is why Waldron Rand is the oldest practicing public accounting firm in Massachusetts.”

In honor of the firm’s 100th anniversary, Waldron Rand has launched a firm-wide charity campaign, the Centennial Community Challenge. As part of the challenge, employees and their families are asked to give back to the community by volunteering 1912 hours. Currently, Waldron Rand has reached almost 1,000 volunteer hours, serving organizations such as:

  • Boston College Legal Clinic
  • Codman Community Farms
  • Dana Farber Cancer Center
  • Elizabeth Stone House
  • Great Hall Performance Series
  • Greater Boston Food Bank

  • Norfolk Lions-Field of Flags for the Fisher House Boston
  • Pancreatic Cancer Action Network
  • Parent Talk, Inc.
  • Project Night Night
  • Raynham Food Pantry
  • Relay for Life-American Cancer Society
  • Second Step
  • St. Jude’s Hospital
  • Travis Roy Foundation
  • Women of Means

In addition, Waldron Rand has a group volunteer project scheduled at the Franklin Park Zoo in August. During the project, Waldron Rand employees and their families will work to beautify the zoo and make care packages for the animals.

On October 3, Waldron Rand shareholders, staff, clients and business partners will assemble at the Endicott Estate for an anniversary reception.
