The American Institute of CPAs is hosting a free webinar for privacy management on July 24 at 1:30 p.m. Eastern Time. The one-hour webinar will offer best practices professionals can implement in their firms when handling employee and customer personal information.

The AICPA recognizes how difficult it can be to properly and securely manage the collection, use, retention and disclosure of private data in a world of cloud solutions, increased mobility and the BYOD trend. Professionals who handle, or are interested in handling, the assessment of data privacy programs can register to attend the webinar and receive one hour of free CPE credit.

During the webinar, attendees will:

  • Gain an understanding of the Generally Accepted Privacy Principles
  • Learn best practices for privacy risk assessment and management
  • Understand how GAPP supports the privacy aspects of SOC2 (formerly SAS 70) pre-planning and engagements
  • See a live demonstration of the AICPA’s new Privacy Principles Scoreboard software and learn how to use is for initial and ongoing assessments of privacy risks and privacy programs
