DRM Provides Improved Audit Workflow

CPA Service Group — Disclosure and Reporting Manager

From the August 2008 Review of Engagement and Trial Balance Systems

Created by a CPA who specialized in audit and disclosure compliance processes while in public practice, CPA Service Group’s Disclosure and Reporting Manager (DRM) is a web-based reporting program that automatically generates engagement letters, discloser checklists, financial statements and other documents based on AICPA requirements, while also enabling integration of a firm’s own practices, policies and standards.
The primary function of the program is working through checklists, with the system guiding the user through data entry. After entering the required information, DRM then automatically generates a completed disclosure checklist and a complete financial statement with engagement letter, reports and footnotes.

With output into Word, WordPerfect and PDF, the program provides exceptional customization options that ensure consistency across all firm engagements, allowing a practice to maintain a unique library based on accounting and auditing pronouncements. Users can then review specific letters and disclosures for specific engagements through the administrator function, as well as review specific areas of focus during peer reviews or internal quality control inspections. In addition to each firm’s approved letters and footnote disclosures, the DRM also integrates a database of AICPA-approved letters and footnote disclosure examples for reference.

The secure, web-based audit program is easy to use and easy to set up, and it enables authorized users to work within or review engagements from any location. DRM pricing includes full technical support along with a library of video tutorials that help explain each of the core processes and customization features.
