My Website is available to users of Universal Tax Systems’ TaxWise tax
preparation product. The following web sites are examples of current user sites:

and cfmorgan.taxwisepartner.com.
Design Theme – 3 Stars
The design theme is very simple and straight to the point. It is designed to
provide a limited number of pages of customized text. My Website provides a
tool to upload your firm’s logo for placement in the header for the web
site.
Content – 2 Stars
Content is limited to up to eight pages of text and a link to IRS publications.
Site Maintenance – 3 Stars
The system is hosted in a redundant web server farm located in Rome, Ga.
Utility Software/Applications – N/A
Site Marketing – 2 Stars
The domain names are a subset of the TaxWise domain and are owned by TaxWise.
Vendor Service & Support – 3 Stars
As noted earlier, the My Website service was established in 2001, and the vendor
currently has nearly 4,000 subscribers. Interestingly, the software is still
in its Version 1 release.
Pricing/Value – 4 Stars
Because there are no setup fees and no recurring fees, you have to rate the
service high in this category. The fact is that users of TaxWise get a clean
looking web site limited to eight pages at no additional charge.
Summary
Obviously, the price can’t be beat if you’re a current user of TaxWise.
However, the image you portray on your web site is more important than saving
a few hundred dollars a year. Most of the other web site builder services reviewed
here simply offer a much broader set of features and content. If all you need
is to establish a simple site for people to find you on the web, this service
will accomplish that.
