TaxWorks (www.taxworks.com) produces tax compliance software for 1040, 1041, 1065, 1120, 1120s and other entities, as well as fixed asset management and office management programs. Among new initiatives and software features for 2004, TaxWorks has set up a new customer relationship management division to “enhance the user experience,” said VP of sales and marketing, Lyle Petersen. Also new this year, the software includes a built-in appointment calendar and bridges between the program and several GL/write-up programs. Other new features include the following:
Ability to customize invoices per return
Built-in appointment calendar
Online e-filing reporting
Auto-alphabetization of Schedule B items
Automated county and school district code completion based on ZIP code
Ability to print to *.PDF
The new invoicing functions let practitioners adjust invoice pricing per return, according to Mr. Petersen. “This gives our preparers more flexibility in running their practices.” Furthermore, he noted the *.PDF capabilities help users move toward paperless engagements, and will help save on printer, copier, paper, toner, manpower and storage costs.
