The awards recognize women who have made outstanding contributions to the accounting profession, their communities, their firms or companies and to the development of women as leaders.   

The AICPA and CPA Practice Advisor partner each year to honor those professionals as the 'Most Powerful Women in Accounting,' as these women have emerged as the most influential leaders shaping the profession.

Companies have more women on their payrolls than ever before, as a large share of 25- to 54-year-olds are employed or looking for work.

Each year, Women to Watch Awards are presented in two categories, Emerging Leader and Experienced Leader.
