Fuentes plans to spend her tenure working with the Society’s Moynihan Scholarship Fund to build the pipeline through elementary school-age students and above by encouraging them to go into accounting, teaching students statewide about financial literacy, supporting small practitioners, and providing an opportunity for NYSSCPA members to network in social settings.
The New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA) expressed agreement with a proposal from the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) that, if implemented, would standardize the treatment of net operating loss carryforwards or tax credit carryforwards on financial statements.
