Outstanding CPAs Honored by Indiana CPA Society

The Indiana CPA Society honored the state's top CPAs at its annual CPA Celebration on May 13. Each individual was nominated by their peers or Society staff and selected by an awards committee comprised of members of the board of directors.

The Indiana CPA Society honored the state’s top CPAs at its annual CPA Celebration on May 13. Each individual was nominated by their peers or Society staff and selected by an awards committee comprised of members of the board of directors. The following are the winners in each category, who were recognized for making significant contributions to their companies, communities and the profession:

  • ADVOCACY

Robert Lazard, CPA-Retired Indianapolis

This award recognizes significant contributions advocating for the CPA profession through government relations.

 

  • BUILDING BRIDGES TO THE PROFESSION

ZeNai Brooks, CPA Controller – Corporate Responsibility & Foundation, Cummins, Indianapolis

This award recognizes an individual or firm committed to building and diversifying the talent pipeline.  

  • CHAIR’S AWARD

Derrick Burks Retired Partner – Ernst & Young, LLP, Indianapolis  

This award is selected by the prior Chair for guidance, assistance and support during the Chair’s term.

 

  • DISTINGUISHED SERVICE

Martha Nommay, CPA Director of Finance & Operations – Second Presbyterian Church, Indianapolis

This award is the Society’s highest honor and recognizes an individual who has made significant contributions to the CPA profession, the AICPA and/or the Society on numerous levels.

 

  • EMERGING LEADERS

Jordan Chavis, CPA Business Analysis Advisor – Eli Lilly and Company, Greenwood Cody Newport, CPA Senior Manager – Kruggel Lawton CPAs, Goshen  

This award recognizes up-and-coming leaders who have already demonstrated initiative in the profession and made significant contributions to the overall success of his/her employer.

  • INNOVATION

John Seale, CPA, CITP Managing Partner – RBSK Partners PC, Brookville  

This award recognizes a transformative individual or firm implementing unique, forward-thinking activities designed to address future issues and needs.
