  • Awarded with multiple prestigious awards from CUNY recognizing teaching excellence and the school’s Accounting Society bestowed him with the Dedication and Service Award in recognition of his unique devotion and contribution to the accounting profession.
  • Provided consulting services to numerous CPAs, business owners, and other stakeholders.  

Dr. Schochet demonstrates leadership and makes an impact in the areas of community and social responsibility. Driven by his commitment to diversity and equal opportunity for all, Dr. Schochet dedicates time to the service of his community. Recognizing the need for a specialized budgeting and investment tool for individuals who have unique financial circumstances, Dr. Schochet developed a customized and effective program called “The Grand Cheshbon Tool” and makes it freely available to those who need it. Dr. Schochet’s leadership, compassion, and guidance have been enabling young men and women to support their families and become productive members of the community. Dr. Schochet is someone who exemplifies care and concern for his community and society at large and sees to it that his ideas come to fruition.

Dr. Schochet has always been inspired and guided by the wisdom of Pirkei Avos; an ancient, yet timeless, collection of ethics, honesty, advice, and practical insight for everyday living.
