As keynote speaker, Sen. Kruger – who was also a panelist during the NYSSCPA’s 2016 Marijuana Symposium – will share her legislative journey of advocating for cannabis and offer insight on key areas she believes New York State can take legislative action.

  • Jeffrey Scott Gittler, CPA, partner at PKF O’Connor Davies, LLP
  • Jason Adam Hoffman, CPA, senior manager at Janover LLP

During the conference, several panels featuring industry experts will discuss the implications of operating a business in the cannabis industry, such as tax challenges and practical issues that professionals are facing when it comes to operating legally and in compliance within the industry.

“The 2019 NYSSCPA Cannabis Conference is an amazing opportunity to see some of the best industry professionals and representatives from top cannabis companies discuss the key issues and challenges of the industry,” said Zachary Gordon, CPA, the Society’s Cannabis Industry Committee and Cannabis Conference chair, and managing partner at CH3 Ventures LLC.

Aside from those in the cannabis industry, CPAs, lawyers, bankers, real estate professionals, investors and others in the finance industry are encouraged to attend, because they are an integral part to help cater to the ever-growing marijuana industry.

“This conference will highlight operational challenges like banking, successful and unsuccessful investment and fundraising strategies, and the experiences of owners, operators and analysts as the industry has evolved,” said Gordon.

The 2019 Cannabis Conference provides a prime opportunity to learn from experts in the field, build connections across sectors, and hear from legislators in the know about what to expect as legislation evolves and as the industry continues to grow.
