W2 Mate is part of Real Business Solutions selection of Payroll, 1099, and W-2 software. Designed to run on desktop computers, W2 Mate can also be installed on a network as well. W2 Mate supports an unlimited number of payers and recipients and is a good fit for businesses and accounting professionals alike. W2 Mate is a stand-alone application, but businesses or firms that need to file a variety of year-end compliance forms should consider purchasing the multiple add-on options available for W2 Mate.

W2 Mate only supports W2, 1099-MISC, W3, and 1096 processing. For those that need to process other 1099 forms, an add-on module is available that will process additional 1099 forms including 1099-INT, 1099-DIV, 1099-A, 1099-B, 1099-C, 1098 and 1098-T forms. Users can also purchase the Create PDF module that includes the option to create a PDF of all forms processed, which can be emailed to clients for in-house printing or electronic distribution.

W2 Mate offers an easily navigated user interface screen that includes a vertical menu with colorful icons that provide quick access to system functions. Shortcut options are available for those importing or exporting data, and the product also offers Bulk TIN matching capability.

Prior year data is easily accessible in W2 Mate, eliminating the need to re-enter data. The product is designed to print on pre-printed forms, but an add-on module is available that will allow users to print on blank paper as well.

W2 Mate is part of Real Business Solutions selection of modules and can be used as a stand-alone year-end compliance program, or in conjunction with other add-on modules offered by Real Business Solutions, which include Generate Laser Forms, Import W2 and 1099 Data from QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel, Electronic Filing, Additional 1099 Forms, and Create PDF. While the default application would work well for smaller businesses, other would do well to consider purchasing the add-on modules for additional functionality.
W2 Mate offers easy data import capability, with users able to import data from QuickBooks, Sage 50, Microsoft Dynamics, and Microsoft Excel. Users can also export 1099 forms and W2 forms to Excel if desired.

W2 Mate includes an informational video that users can access from the Real Business Solutions/W2 website. The full demo of the product can also be downloaded at no cost, so users can try the software prior to purchasing. Product support is included in the price of the product, with telephone, email and chat support options available.

W2 Mate is an affordable W-2 and 1099 processing application, with a variety of add-on modules available. The core application is available for only $39.00, though most businesses and accounting firms will likely opt to purchase many or all of the W2 Mate add-on modules for more comprehensive product functionality. Add-on’s available from Real Business Solutions include Generate Laser Forms-$25.00, Network Installation – $125.00, Import Data from Excel, QuickBooks, and Sage 50 – $35.00, Electronic Filing – $90.00, Additional 1099 Forms $25.00, PDF Creation – $30.00 and the 1099 Emailer, which auto batches high volumes of 1099’s and W-2’s – $135.00. A free trial of the product can also be downloaded from the Real Business Solutions website prior to purchasing.
