WilliamsMarston, a national accounting, tax, technology, transaction, and valuation advisory firm, has acquired the NetSuite Services practice from Charted, a provider of ERP-native accounts payable automation software.

Financial terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.

The acquisition brings experienced NetSuite professionals to Boston-based WilliamsMarston and further expands the firm’s technology-enabled advisory capabilities. Charted, also based in Boston, will continue to operate independently providing accounts payable software, with the two companies forming a strategic partnership focused on jointly supporting shared clients, officials say.

The Charted NetSuite Services team helps growing and middle-market companies implement, configure, and customize NetSuite, a leading cloud-based enterprise resource planning platform. The team also provides managed services, maintenance support, training, and advisory services to organizations using the platform.

WilliamsMarston says the addition strengthens its ability to help clients address key finance function needs and complements the firm’s existing capabilities across the office of the CFO and controller. It also provides a platform for WilliamsMarston to further expand its AI-enabled ERP capabilities over time, including through its Finance as a Service (FaaS) practice, which provides outsourced operational and strategic finance and accounting support to early-stage companies seeking to grow efficiently without significant internal headcount or infrastructure, officials say.

“Our clients need more than an ERP implementation, they need a partner who can provide the expertise and ongoing support to help their systems keep pace as their businesses change,” Scott Grillo, managing director of NetSuite services at WilliamsMarston who led the NetSuite consulting business at Charted, said in a statement on Oct. 19. “Joining WilliamsMarston gives us the opportunity to combine our NetSuite experience with the firm’s extensive capabilities, creating new ways to support both our existing clients and companies we haven’t yet had the opportunity to serve. Together, we can help clients address a wider range of needs, from FP&A and transaction advisory to tax and AI-enabled ERP strategy, while continuing to deliver the responsiveness and service they value.”

The acquisition also brings together complementary expertise across technology, finance, and advisory services, creating opportunities to support clients at different stages of their growth and transformation, WilliamsMarston says.

“As companies navigate increasingly complex environments for technology-enabled finance, they need a partner who brings a business-first perspective to address their data, technology, and security needs as well as appropriate AI-enablement,” WilliamsMarston CEO Sanjay Ramaswamy said in a statement. “We’re excited to welcome the NetSuite Services team to WilliamsMarston, whose deep expertise and people-focused approach will strengthen our ability to help clients connect their finance strategy, systems, and operations from implementation through ongoing support and transformation.”

“Scott and his team have done great work for our clients, and I’ve known WilliamsMarston’s founders for years, so I’m confident the team and its clients are in good hands,” Bernardo Enciso, founder and CEO of Charted, added in a statement. “This lets us put all our focus on our AP automation software and on working closely with partners like WilliamsMarston. Our AP automation customers will keep working with the same product and the same team at Charted.”

Founded in 2014, WilliamsMarston has approximately 350 professionals and offices in Boston, New York, Chicago, Charlotte, Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, Tucson, Denver, and Southern California. The firm advises public, private equity-backed and pre-IPO companies and their investors managing rapid growth and transformation, including mergers, acquisitions, carveouts, spin-offs, initial public offerings, complex technical accounting, corporate tax, and restructuring.
