New Mexico Attorney General Raúl Torrez has filed a federal lawsuit against the co-executors of the estate of the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein on behalf of women who allege they were abused at Zorro Ranch in Santa Fe County.

The complaint alleges that Epstein ran a sex trafficking enterprise and that Epstein’s former attorney, Darren Indyke, and his former accountant, Richard Kahn, knowingly participated and helped conceal the abuse.

“Those who argue that he could not have acted alone are right. His operation depended on the appearance of legitimacy and access to money carefully structured to avoid exposing his crimes,” states a letter signed by alleged Epstein survivors. “This lawsuit is aimed at the two men most responsible for that appearance and structure.”

New Mexico is asking a judge to prevent Indyke and Kahn from receiving estate payments while the case proceeds. The suit was filed Wednesday in U.S. District Court for the District of New Mexico.

The suit alleges that the estate is currently valued at more than $107 million. Indyke and Kahn are eligible for bequests of $50 million and $25 million, subject to the availability of funds, it alleges.

“Jeffrey Epstein did not operate alone, and his death does not end the pursuit of accountability for the people who helped make his crimes possible,” Torrez said in a news release. “The allegations in this lawsuit describe a network of people and financial arrangements that helped sustain and conceal the abuse of vulnerable girls and young women, including here in New Mexico.”

Both Indyke and Kahn held leadership roles in Epstein-related entities, managed financial accounts, and authorized transactions connected to the trafficking operation.
