Caron Bletzer, a national accounting firm specializing in employee benefit plan audits, has released Atlura, a practice management platform tailor-made by CPAs for CPA firm leaders challenged by growing a practice with fragmented software and delayed data.
When time and billing, workflow, and scheduling are not in sync, the work slows down and unbillable time and frustration racks up. Atlura addresses these functions at the source of the bottleneck: the data.

“As a firm leader, you need good data to make good decisions. So many firms are in the boat of just not having good data and they are married to time and billing systems that don’t support their needs,” Caron Bletzer Managing Parter John Bletzer said in a statement on May 29. “As we build out data trees, we get more intelligent on how to use it. We think ‘what is the data you need to make the best decisions.’ Typically, that is siloed in small groups. Atlura changes all of that.”
Atlura effectively places workflow, scheduling, time and billing, client collaboration, performance tracking, and reporting into a single, connected platform. Moreover, the platform enables firms to:
- Standardize and automate workflows.
- Track project readiness and milestones in real time.
- Allocate resources intelligently based on availability, experience, and project complexity.
- Simplify client collaboration through integrated requests, secure file sharing, and automated communication.
- Give every team member—from staff to partners—a clear, prioritized view of what to work on each day.
The result is a system that doesn’t just track work but actively drives performance, the firm says.
Built and refined over six years by the partners of Caron Bletzer, Atlura came to be after firm leadership sought a better way to manage growth, complexity, and performance using real-time data.
After continuous development, refinement, and live use within a high-volume CPA firm, Atlura is now preparing for a broader market launch to bring proven, production-ready technology to firms facing the same operational challenges.
“This new platform is designed to be proactive, not reactive,” Senior Partner Jeff Polchlopek said in a statement. “Prior to Atlura, our staff were regularly asking themselves, what do I prioritize? Is it time-sensitive material, the loudest manager, or should it be the loudest client? This constant prioritizing, just to put out fires, is inefficient and leads to mental burnout. Atlura resolves this issue by sorting and prioritizing the work for us.”
Since implementing Atlura in house, and at several other accounting firms, using the platform has resulted in:
- Significant increases in firm-wide profitability.
- Meaningful reductions in administrative effort.
- Higher employee confidence, clarity, and morale.
- Faster project turnaround with the same headcount.
- Improved visibility into client readiness and engagement risk.
What’s coming
This database was built for AI. As such, AI scheduling will come in to solve very intelligent issues. Using all client data and feedback, managers will be able to assign the right person to the right task throughout the firm. Atlura also will be able to automatically adjust and optimize user schedules based on readiness, provide reminders for key tasks and requests, and give users confidence they are working on the correct assignments in the most efficient order.
