Jeremiah Hathorn, CPA – 2025 “40 Under 40” Honoree
Managing Partner, Hathorn Advisory Group
Adjunct Professor, Harris-Stowe State University
Past President, NABA St. Louis Chapter
Recent Career Highlights:
I recently launched Hathorn Advisory Group, where I serve as Managing Partner, providing financial advisory services to small and medium-sized businesses and nonprofits. Through the firm, I am focused on helping organizations strengthen their financial operations, improve decision-making, and build sustainable strategies for growth, while also investing in the next generation through early hiring and internship opportunities for my firm.
Prior to launching my firm, I served as a Manager in the Big 4, where I advised clients on financial reporting and strategic finance matters. In parallel, I have expanded my leadership and community impact through mentorship. I currently serve as President of 100 Black Men of Metropolitan St. Louis, where I have helped strengthen organizational operations, expand youth programming, and deepen community partnerships.
Outreach Beyond the Firm:
Outreach Beyond Your Firm (max 100 words):
Beyond my firm, I focus heavily on mentorship, education, and community leadership. I serve as an adjunct professor at Harris-Stowe State University, where I teach accounting and finance and help students navigate professional pathways. Through nonprofit leadership, I work to expand youth financial literacy, college readiness, and leadership development.
I have also supported professional pipeline efforts through organizations such as NABA, AGA, and MOCPA, creating opportunities for students and young professionals to access mentorship, scholarships, and exposure to careers in accounting and finance. I am also in the process of reestablishing my lavender garden in St. Louis where my home once stood, as a small part of restoring the community after the May 16, 2025 tornado.
