Top 25 accounting firm CRI (Carr, Riggs & Ingram) has expanded into the San Antonio market with the addition of Williams Steinert Mask CPAs, a firm that has served the San Antonio community with their accounting and investing needs for more than 60 years.
Financial terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.
The move brings a location in San Antonio and one in Bulverde, TX, along with three partners—Chris Williams, Tonya Steinert, and Kirk Mask—and their professional staff, to CRI.
This is Enterprise, AL-based CRI’s third merger transaction since it received private equity funding from investment management firm Centerbridge Partners and venture capital firm Bessemer Venture Partners in November 2024. CRI combined with Indianapolis-based top 200 CPA firm CapinCrouse earlier this year and Lufkin, TX-based CPA firm Axley & Rode in June.

A third-generation family-owned accounting and advisory practice, WSM primarily provides tax, attest, outsourced accounting, and consulting services to real estate, construction, nonprofit organizations, and other businesses and individuals.

Following the merger of WSM, CRI now operates in 38 markets across 12 states.
