Professional tax preparation solutions provider Drake Software announced Sept. 16 the launch of a new workflow automation suite that optimizes and automates the tax preparer’s work and team collaboration across Drake Software products.
The new feature set, Drake Workflow, is built to help tax professionals streamline operations, enhance team coordination, and gain visibility into every return and customer progress throughout tax season.
“Tax professionals are under intense pressure during filing season, and we’ve heard them loud and clear: they need real-time visibility, fewer manual steps, and tools that actually work together,” Noha Ghazouani, vice president of product management at Drake Software, said in a statement. “This launch reflects our commitment to solving the real pain points of today’s tax offices.”
Drake Workflow ties together products in the Drake Software ecosystem, including Drake Tax, Drake Portals, Drake E-Sign, Drake Pay, and Drake Tax Online, which is Drake’s newest online tax prep product, so work moves smoothly across people and products. Users benefit from built-in status updates as they work, eliminating the need to track progress in spreadsheets or guess what task to work on next.
Key features of Drake Workflow include:
- Keeps statuses up to date automatically: As work is completed in Drake tools, return status updates on its own—no spreadsheets needed.
- Sends work to the right person at the right time: Tasks route automatically based on status, with built-in flags for items that need attention.
- Shows the big picture at a glance: A clear dashboard lists all client returns and where they stand so nothing gets lost in the rush.
- Gives teams simple controls: Drag-and-drop status changes, easy task delegation, and quick payment tracking from the client view.
Drake Workflow is the latest in a series of innovations from Drake Software has launched in recent years, including:
- Drake Pay: A secure, integrated solution for client payments that simplifies billing.
- Drake Tax Online: A cloud-native solution built for professionals who prefer working online, offering a simple, intuitive interface designed to support newer tax preparers.
The new workflow tools began to roll out to users in beta on Sept. 16.
