8am, a professional business platform geared for legal, accounting, and other client-focused professionals, on Wednesday announced several new upgrades to its solution suite during Kaleidoscope, the company’s inaugural conference.
These solution updates include advancements across billing, artificial intelligence-powered tools, document search, and integrations—all designed to help accounting and legal professionals simplify their daily work and better serve their clients.

“Our goal is to bring powerful simplicity to how professionals run their firms,” Leslie Witt, chief product officer at 8am, said in a statement. “Modern work tools should reduce complexity, not create it. These updates to the 8am solution suite reflect our evolution into a unified platform, designed to deliver an intuitive experience that professionals can rely on to navigate everyday challenges of managing their business.”
8am was formerly known as AffiniPay and launched its new brand identity last month. The company’s platform includes 8am LawPay, 8am CPACharge, 8am MyCase, 8am CasePeer, and 8am DocketWise.

Included in today’s announcement at Kaleidoscope is a new integration between NetDocuments and 8am MyCase, which gives firms a new way to store, manage, and collaborate on documents by bringing NetDocuments files directly into MyCase, eliminating the need to switch platforms. This embedded integration enables legal teams to find the right documents quickly and work more efficiently with tools for AI-powered search and filtering, document version control, and co-authoring of documents, 8am said.
Another enhancement announced today is MyCase customizable reporting, which 8am says gives firms greater visibility into the health and growth of their practice.
“Midsized firms in particular have long cited reporting as a critical pain point, with existing tools feeling too rigid and fragmented to support critical decision-making. The new reporting experience delivers a modern, customized approach that allows firms to highlight the specific metrics needed to accurately track performance, efficiency, and profitability,” 8am said in a Sept. 3 media release. “By empowering professionals with flexible insights, MyCase customizable reporting helps firms move forward with confidence and make smarter, data-driven business decisions.”
Also introduced on Wednesday is 8am IQ, which brings the power of AI across 8am solutions, giving professionals the speed of AI with compliant tools they can trust.
The latest example of this vision is Chat with Cases in MyCase, now in beta. This AI tool allows users to ask questions about their case data and documents, cutting hours of searching and review down to seconds.
Personal Injury Insights Report
8am also announced the release of its 2025 Personal Injury Insights Report, providing an in-depth analysis of how personal injury law firms are adapting to rapid advancements in legal technology.
Drawing on survey responses from more than 325 professionals across a range of firm sizes and roles, the report examines the accelerating adoption of AI, the growing influence of billing and payment tools on profitability, and the lasting shift toward hybrid and remote work models. While AI continues to capture industry attention, the report notes that many firms are equally focused on proven technologies that enhance workflow, financial management, and client service.
This year’s survey results reflect a sector that is cautiously optimistic, with firms weighing efficiency gains against ethical and operational considerations, 8am says. As technology advances at a rapid pace, the report indicates that firms taking a thoughtful and strategic approach to adoption are best-positioned for sustained success.

“Our customers trust us to power the most important parts of their business,” said 8am CEO Dru Armstrong, “We take that responsibility seriously, which is why we focus on delivering solutions that not only work but truly make a difference. Every addition reflects our commitment to helping professionals save time, strengthen client relationships, and grow, all from one trusted platform built entirely around their needs.”
8am announced that Kaleidoscope 2026 will be hosted in Las Vegas. More information will be available next year at 8am.com.
