Top 20 accounting firm Cherry Bekaert announced Wednesday that it has acquired Jameson & Co. CPAs, a Bedford, MA-based firm that specializes in providing outsourced accounting solutions to small federal government contractors and grantees.
Financial terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.
The move continues Cherry Bekaert’s growth in the Northeast following its acquisition of Katz Nannis + Solomon, a Boston-based firm, in December 2024.

The Raleigh, NC-based accounting firm said the acquisition of Jameson expands its Government Contractor Consulting Services practice by leveraging Jameson’s extensive experience in government contracts and grants compliance consulting.
“The integration of Jameson’s specialized capabilities in government contracts and grant funding aligns seamlessly with Cherry Bekaert’s commitment to providing comprehensive and tailored solutions to its clients,” the firm said in a media release on Aug. 6. “The addition of Jameson also strengthens Cherry Bekaert’s capabilities in outsourced accounting solutions to federal government contractors and grantees of all sizes.
Cherry Bekaert brings over 25 years of experience in the government contracting industry, specializing in compliance and operational efficiency. The combined team includes former contractor CFOs, controllers, auditors from the Defense Contract Audit Agency and Defense Contract Management Agency, as well as contracts, grants and finance professionals, and operational and compliance advisors.
The firm provides guidance in navigating complex regulatory areas, such as the Federal Acquisition Regulation, Cost Accounting Standards, Uniform Grant Guidance compliance, Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

Founded in 1978, Jameson has helped businesses procure, manage, and survive audit on more than $6 billion in government funding awards over the past four decades. The firm does business coast to coast, assisting more than 200 clients in 42 states.

Cherry Bekaert received private equity funding from Parthenon Capital in 2022 and operates in an alternative practice structure.
