Steven Bong – 2025 “20 Under 40” Influencer

Steven is the founder and CEO of AuditFile, the first cloud-based audit solution. He started the company with his brother in 2011, and today AuditFile is used by thousands of auditors around the world. Steven has lectured on entrepreneurship at Cornell University’s Johnson School of Business and has been named to CPA Practice Advisor’s “Twenty Under Forty” list a record eight times.
Before founding AuditFile, Steven held roles at Merrill Lynch, Accenture, and Thomson Reuters.
He earned a degree in statistics from UC Berkeley, where he worked under Nobel Laureate Daniel McFadden at the Statistical Computing Facility and the Econometrics Laboratory. His work there inspired AuditFile’s patented application of artificial intelligence to financial statement audits.
Steven is an instrument-rated pilot and a volunteer examiner for the American Radio Relay League (ARRL). He lives in Northern California with his wife and three children.
