Sikich Acquires IT Consulting Firm Burwood Group

Top 25 accounting firm Sikich announced April 7 it has acquired Oak Brook IL-based Burwood Group, an IT consulting and integration firm.

Top 25 accounting firm Sikich announced April 7 it has acquired Chicago area-based Burwood Group, an IT consulting and integration firm. 

Financial terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.

This is the first M&A deal this year for the Chicago-based firm. Sikich secured a $250 million minority investment from private equity firm Bain Capital in May 2024 to support its aggressive growth strategy, focused on acquisitions and strategic partnerships.

In a media release, Sikich said about the deal with Burwood Group: “At a time when many clients need more secure IT environments and practical outcomes as their platforms grow in complexity, these additional capabilities will help those organizations modernize their technology so they can work smarter, faster, and more efficiently. Additionally, with an existing robust business advisory and regulated-industry ecosystem, Sikich will be well-positioned to offer these clients end-to-end capabilities across business, technology, and governance.”

Founded in 1997 in Chicago and now with headquarters in Oak Brook, IL, Burwood Group is an IT consulting and integration firm, helping IT leaders design, use, and manage technology to transform business and improve outcomes. The firm says it builds lasting client relationships founded in trust, integrity, and quality.

Burwood Group has served enterprise-level clients across a range of industries where Sikich has existing niche specialty, including health care, higher education, industrials, and financial services.
