Top 100 accounting firm HoganTaylor has expanded its footprint in Louisiana through a merger with Hawthorn, Waymouth & Carroll, a CPA firm based in Baton Rouge that provides audit, tax, and accounting services, effective Jan. 1.
Financial terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.
HWC has served the Baton Rouge business community for more than 70 years, advising individuals and organizations across Louisiana. HoganTaylor entered the Baton Rouge market in 2023 with Louisiana professionals that brought more than 50 years of combined experience serving Louisiana clients at top 100 accounting firms.

“The Baton Rouge market aligns well with who we are as a firm, and the city’s culture reflects the communities where we have been successful,” Todd Wisdom, growth partner at HoganTaylor, said in a statement on Jan. 6. “Clients appreciate local relationships backed by the resources of an independent regional firm. HWC’s long-standing presence, combined with our broader platform, makes this a strong match for both firms and for the Baton Rouge community.”
Through the merger, HoganTaylor has added two assurance partners, Brittany Thames and Kevin Rodriguez, along with 10 additional professionals, bringing its Louisiana team to 16. The combined office is operating from HWC’s former location on United Plaza Boulevard.
“Building this firm alongside our team and clients has been one of the great privileges of my career,” said Louis McKnight III, managing partner of HWC. “As HWC joins HoganTaylor, I know we are placing that legacy into hands that share our values, our commitment to excellence, and our belief in doing what’s right for the people we serve.”
Established in 2009, HoganTaylor has offices in Tulsa and Oklahoma City, OK; Little Rock and Fayetteville, AR.; and Baton Rouge, LA. It’s an independent member of PrimeGlobal, one of the five largest associations of independent accounting firms in the world.

“Clients in Baton Rouge will see continuity where it matters most,” said Tabatha Broussard, managing partner of HoganTaylor’s Baton Rouge office. “They’ll keep working with the people they know and trust, but with the backing of a firm that understands their market and offers broader resources to support their goals.”
As part of a celebration marking the integration of its Baton Rouge team, HoganTaylor presented a $5,000 grant from the HoganTaylor Foundation to the Dream Day Foundation on Jan. 5.
“HWC has supported our programs for many years and I’m really excited to have the opportunity to grow with HoganTaylor,” said Tiffany Mansur Graves, executive director of Dream Day Foundation, a charity that supports the lifesaving efforts of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital through fundraising, advocacy, and special events. “It’s great to hear that HoganTaylor has a mission that supports the communities they serve and even better to see that it’s already turning into real support for Baton Rouge.”
