PKF O’Connor Davies Merges in Bowman & Co. in New Jersey

The top 30 accounting firm has expanded its presence in the greater Philadelphia metro area after merging with Bowman & Co., a CPA firm with three offices in southern New Jersey, effective Jan. 1.

Top 30 accounting firm PKF O’Connor Davies has expanded its presence in the greater Philadelphia metro area after merging with Bowman & Co., a CPA firm with three offices in southern New Jersey, effective Jan. 1.

Financial terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.

This deal is Harrison, NY-based PKF O’Connor Davies’ second in as many months as it said in December it was adding New York City-based boutique tax and financial advisory firm Wolf Maryles & Associates, also effective Jan. 1.

Founded in 1939, Bowman & Co. includes 100 experienced professionals and 20 partners across offices in Voorhees, Haddonfield, and Woodbury, NJ. The firm has long been recognized as a regional authority in municipal and governmental accounting. Its professionals hold an array of industry-specific credentials, including Registered Municipal Accountants (RMAs), Public School Accountants (PSAs), and Certified Municipal Finance Officers (CMFOs), reflecting the depth of their specialized expertise.

Beyond the public sector, Bowman & Co. also serves clients across not-for-profit, construction, health care, and professional services industries.

In November 2024, the firm announced it was getting an infusion of capital from Bahrain-based private equity group Investcorp and the Public Sector Pension Investment Board (PSP Investments), one of Canada’s largest pension investment managers.

The top 30 accounting firm said at the time that the injection of outside funding will “elevate its competitiveness and amplify long-term sustainability” and “provide flexibility for increased M&A activity, as well as investing in cutting-edge technology and new service lines.”

PKF O’Connor Davies also completed a deal last June when it acquired Rainer & Co., a regional CPA firm with offices in Newtown Square and West Chester in Pennsylvania.
