Describe your outreach in the accounting profession beyond your own firm
As a proud CPA, current Chair of the Center for Audit Quality (CAQ)’s Governing Board, and Trustee on the Financial Accounting Foundation (FAF), I have spent my career championing progress in the accounting profession. I actively engage with organizations like the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA) and institutions like Baruch College, my alma mater, to strengthen our community and illuminate the varied, dynamic paths a career in accounting can offer. Above all, I am passionate about collaborating with current and future industry leaders to promote accounting as attractive, forward-looking, and impactful for all.
What are the podcasts/books/blogs/websites/publications you turn to for professional development?
One book I constantly find myself turning to for inspiration is All In by the great Billie Jean King. Her story is a masterclass in grit and resilience, and her mantra that “pressure is a privilege” reminds me to embrace challenges as tremendous opportunities for growth, leadership, and impact.
