Top 100 accounting firm Brown Edwards has acquired Virginia Beach, VA-based DesRoches & Co., an accounting firm that has served the Hampton Roads community for nearly 40 years.
Financial terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.
The acquisition adds more than 25 professionals to Brown Edwards’ team, increasing the firm’s accounting and advisory experts in the Hampton Roads region to more than 50.
“This expansion brings together two firms with shared values and a common vision for delivering exceptional service to our clients,” Laura Sprouse, CEO of Roanoke, VA-based Brown Edwards, said in a statement. “We’re excited to welcome the talented professionals from DesRoches & Co. to strengthen our presence in Virginia Beach and neighboring cities.”
A cornerstone of this acquisition is the significant expansion of Brown Edwards’ homeowners association services and condominium practice. DesRoches’ established expertise in this specialized sector “will deepen the combined firm’s capabilities, enabling more comprehensive solutions for these specialty clients across the firm’s expanding footprint,” Brown Edwards said in a media release on Nov. 11.

Founded in 1988 by Mark DesRoches, DesRoches & Co. built its reputation by providing specialized accounting and tax services to condominium and homeowners associations throughout the region. In 1993, Mark’s brother, David DesRoches, joined the firm.
The DesRoches brothers said they sought a partner that aligned with their values and vision, and Brown Edwards met their key criteria—preserving their culture, expanding their capabilities, and positioning them for continued success.
