Aug. 15 — A woman earned more than $5.4 million as an OnlyFans content creator over four years but did not pay at least $1.6 million in taxes in that span of time, federal prosecutors said.

Now Kylie Leia Perez, who lives in Tampa, Florida, is in debt to the IRS, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Florida

She owes the IRS at least $1.6 million in back taxes, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said in an Aug. 14 news release.

Perez has been indicted on one count of filing a false tax return and four counts of failing to pay income tax in connection with what prosecutors said was a scheme to avoid paying taxes from 2019 through 2023.

Her Tampa-based defense attorney, Brian Lucas Shrader, did not immediately return McClatchy News’ request for comment Aug. 15.

On OnlyFans, Perez shared content with paying subscribers under the stage name “Natalie Monroe,” prosecutors said.

Perez, according to prosecutors, filed a fake tax return for 2019 and did not pay taxes for the next three years in relation to her OnlyFans profits, from 2020 through 2023. Meanwhile, records show she made between $202,998 and $2,130,898 in taxable income a year in that time frame, according to her indictment.

OnlyFans increased in popularity at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic after the site was formed in 2016, Fortune magazine reported.

The company’s subscription-based model has proved extremely profitable, particularly for creators making adult content, with OnlyFans users having spent $6.6 billion in 2023, according to a Business Insider report citing company tax records.

Eight OnlyFans models interviewed by the outlet reported earning between $143,000 to $5.4 million in just a year.

If Perez is found guilty of all charges, she would face up to seven years in federal prison, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

She was arrested Aug. 14, after her indictment was filed on July 22, court records show.
