Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) Chair Richard R. Jones today announced the appointment of KPMG Chief Accountant Angie Storm to the Emerging Issues Task Force (EITF).

“I am pleased to welcome Angie Storm to the EITF,” stated Mr. Jones. “Angie brings to the table extensive technical accounting experience and an important perspective that will enhance our discussions on EITF issues brought before the FASB.”

The mission of the EITF is to assist the FASB in improving financial reporting through the timely identification and development of proposed solutions to address narrowly scoped financial accounting issues within the framework of the FASB Accounting Standards Codification.

Ms. Storm fills the seat vacated by Robert Malhotra, who recently assumed a new role within KPMG.

“As a previous EITF alumnus and charter member of our recently reconstituted EITF, Robert Malhotra played a key role in supporting its successful transition to new operating procedures and enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of our interpretative process,” added Mr. Jones. “On behalf of the FASB, we thank him for his service during this important period.”
