Fresh off receiving a private equity investment, Bend, OR-based firm Capstone Accounting and Tax has expanded into Colorado and increased its presence in Oregon by adding Keller & Mendoza CPAs and Sargent CPA.
Financial terms of both deals weren’t disclosed.
Formerly known as Capstone CPAs, Capstone Accounting and Tax locked up an outside investment from San Diego-based private equity firm Seaside Equity Partners earlier this month. Capstone said the outside capital will provide the financial and strategic support needed to accelerate its long-term growth, strengthen client service offerings, and expand its market presence through mergers and acquisitions.

The firm didn’t waste any time, announcing deals with Vail, CO-based Keller & Mendoza and Klamath Falls, OR-based Sargent CPA on April 15. Capstone said it’s actively seeking to invest in small and midsized accounting, tax, bookkeeping, and human resources advisory practices nationally.
Keller & Mendoza CPAs
Keller & Mendoza provides comprehensive tax strategy, business consulting, business accounting, real estate investment advisory, and succession planning services to clients. Firm President Maury Keller joins Capstone as a partner and will continue leading the Vail office.

To support this transition, the Sargent team has moved into Capstone’s local office in Klamath Falls. Sargent CPA Owner Will Sargent joins Capstone as a partner, bringing more than 14 years of experience in accounting, tax strategy, and business advisory services.
