Canvas is suitable for a variety of business types including construction, schools, restaurants, and general retailers. Canvas is available as both a desktop system and a mobile app and offers a long list of inventory tools and resources that are all accessible from a mobile device. During product installation, users can customize the app entry screen to ensure that the features and functionality they need is quickly available; essentially building their own app.

From the 2017 review of Inventory Management systems.

Canvas offers numerous apps that are suitable for a variety of industries, including inventory apps for tool and equipment, warehouses, restaurants, food service, and general retail businesses. Inventory apps available include a dispatch calendar, perfect for tracking field jobs. The Inventory Collection app offers users an easy way to take physical inventory at any location, and the In-Out Inventory Tracking app allows users to easily check inventory in and out from any location. And the Inventory Tracking Mobile app allows users to quickly access inventory quantities and lists, track low inventory levels, and even check products in using a mobile phone as a scanning device.

Canvas tracks inventory information such as item numbers, current inventory quantities, date last inventory was completed. The product can be used to track both inventory and non-inventory stock, so users can utilize the product to track assets as well as inventory.
