Financial Executives International Adds Staff
Financial Executives International  recently announced an addition of Erik S. Bradbury to its professional staff through its newly created Professional Accounting Fellow program. Bradbury joined as FEI’s first professional accounting fellow. In this role, he will support FEI’s advocacy, research and education initiatives on behalf of senior-level financial executives and provide ongoing input to Financial Executives Research Foundation research agenda and reports.

McGladrey Principal Appointed Lay Member of the PA Bar Association Judicial Evaluation Commission
McGladrey LLP recently announced that Gregory Cowhey, principal, financial forensics was recently appointed as a lay member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association Judicial Evaluation Commission. Cowhey, has more than 30 years of accounting experience and specializes in forensic accounting, economic damages analysis, business and intangible asset valuation services, litigation support and expert witness services and transaction advisory services.

Marks Paneth Appoints Partner-in-Charge
Marks Paneth LLP recently named Keith Peterka, CPA as Partner-in-Charge of the accounting firm’s Professional Standards Group. Peterka has more than 20 years of experience dealing with complex auditing and financial reporting issues and extensive experience advising clients on business combinations, fair value, variable interest entities and revenue recognition issues. Peterka has also worked with middle-market and multinational clients on International Financial Reporting Standards and U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles issues. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Robert Morris University.

Scheffel Boyle Recognized
Scheffel Boyle received the Captain of the Riverbend award from the Riverbend Growth Association. Scheffel Boyle was nominated and recognized for its community involvement, and is one of six local businesses to be recognized for 2015.

Armanino Consultants to Present at AICPA Conference
Armanino LLP recently announced that partner Jeff Stegner, CPA/ABV, CFE and managing director Dirk Van Dyke, ASA, MSBA, will address the Forensic and Valuations Services Conference hosted by the American Institute of CPAs. Stegner and Van Dyke will present: “Doubling Down on the Monte Carlo Method.” Attendees will learn about applying the Monte Carlo method, receive step-by-step instructions, and learn when it is appropriate to use this valuation method. Armanino’s Valuations experts will also provide a step-by-step guide through a Monte Carlo calculation using Excel spreadsheets.

Friedman LLP Adds New Partner-in-Charge
Friedman LLP announced that Harry Steinmetz, CPA has joined the firm as Partner-In-Charge of the New York Forensic, Litigation and Valuation Services practice. Steinmetz has more than 30 years of experience and will provide litigation support and forensic accounting services to clients in the manufacturing, real estate, construction, professional services, sports, health and fitness, hospitality, health care and financial services industries. He graduated from Brooklyn College with a degree in Accounting.

Moore Colson Announces Staff Promotions
Moore Colson recently announced promotions for seven firm professionals: Lana Yelina, CPA, CVA, CFE to manager in the Business Assurance Practice; Mandy Yau to Senior Associate in the Tax Practice; Samantha Scott to Senior Associate in the Tax Practice; Jake Patton, CPA to Senior Associate in the Tax Practice; Natalie Jett to Senior Associate in the Tax Practice; Kristi Smith to Senior Associate in the Corporate Accounting Practice; Jackie Fitzgerald, CPA to Senior Associate in Business Assurance Practice.

CalCPA Los Angeles Chapter Names President
The California Society of Certified Public Accountants Los Angeles Chapter recently announced the appointment of Tayiika M. Dennis, CPA as the chapter’s president. Dennis is a partner at NSBN, where she provides audit and tax services to nonprofit organizations. She received her bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of California, Los Angeles and was given the 2014 Women to Watch Award from CalCPA.
