Recent Career Highlights
Since joining CPAClub as Vice President in August 2024, Ellen has focused on transforming how CPA firms approach quality management and education. She has authored QC 1000 content and assisted numerous firms in designing systems of quality management for both SQMS and QC 1000, and created custom PCAOB remediation trainings that help firms achieve compliance with evolving standards.
Her thought leadership includes a widely-read article on implementing new Quality Management Standards published in CalCPA Magazine, and technical review of materials for national clinics reaching thousands of professionals. Internally, she led CPAClub’s people experience function and hosted the Anchors & Allies event celebrating the colleagues and partners who form the firm’s foundation. Ellen was also honored to be nominated for the CalCPA Women to Watch Experienced Leader Award two years in a row.
What are you doing to make a difference in the profession, your community, the world?
Ellen serves on the Associates Board of the Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County, promoting equitable access to nutritious food and organizing community events. She stays connected with her alma mater, Chapman University, as a guest speaker and active alumna. Within the profession, she contributes to elevating standards through published thought leadership in CalCPA Magazine, technical review for national clinics, and coaching and mentoring emerging professionals.
Ellen earned an Associate Certified Coach designation and is committed to the development and well-being of everyone she works with — believing that a stronger profession starts with investing in its people.
What are you currently reading/listening to that improves your professional development?
Ellen draws professional inspiration from thought leaders focused on courage, leadership, and human potential. Her go-tos include Brené Brown’s work on vulnerability and daring leadership, Adam Grant’s WorkLife podcast and books on rethinking and organizational psychology, Simon Sinek’s writings on purpose-driven leadership, and The Diary of a CEO podcast for candid conversations with world-class leaders and entrepreneurs.
