Recent Career Highlights
After the acquisition of Divvy, I left to found Tandem Ventures, a venture fund focused on backing technology companies. After 4 years, I realized that building software is way more fun than investing in it. That realization led me to start Ping Assistant, an AI platform helping accounting firms upsell and cross-sell their services. I believe this is one of the most exciting times to be building technology for the accounting profession, and I wanted to be in the middle of it, not on the sidelines writing checks.
Outreach Beyond Company:
One thing I care a lot about is helping young men figure out how to be successful. I hosted a cohort of 10 guys between 16 and 18 years old, brought them in front of some of the best founders in Utah, people who have built billion-dollar businesses, and helped them start thinking about what it takes to build something great. I still stay active in that work and try to keep that pipeline going.
Favorite Podcasts / Books / Resources:
The Secret CFO newsletter, the scriptures (they’ve given me a real moral compass), and Storyworthy by Matthew Dicks. That last one has helped me become a much better storyteller. Still working on it, but it’s made a difference
