Top 50 U.S. accounting firm joins international firm alliance

Berdon leads TIAG’s U.S. expansion strategy advised by top industry consultant Allan Koltin.

One of New York’s top independent acounting firms, Berdon LLP, has announced it has joined the international alliance of accounting firms known as TIAG (The International Accounting Group).  The alliance includes more than 110 independent accounting firms around the world, and also gives Berdon access to TIAG’s sister alliance of independent law firms, TAGLaw.

TIAG recently engaged top industry consultant, Allan D. Koltin, recognized as one of CPA Practice Advisor’s Thought Leaders for 2013. He is CEO of Koltin Consulting Group, and will help the firm expend its North American membership with a number of Top 100 U.S. firms. TIAG is now in discussions with several of these firms and Berdon’s membership marks a significant milestone in this expansion project.

“Our decision to join TIAG is fueled by our firm’s desire to offer an unmatched level of service to our clients, wherever they conduct, or plan to conduct, business,” said Stuart Kotler, Co-managing Partner of Berdon LLP. “My co-managing partner Mark Bosswick and our team considered this opportunity carefully and with special advice from renowned consultant, Allan Koltin. TIAG and TAGLaw offer us a worldwide multi-disciplinary platform from which we can service our current and future clients.”

“For leading accounting firms like Berdon, gaining access to a group of unique and high quality alliances, such as TIAG and TAGLaw, will impact the trajectory of their firm for years to come,” said Allan Koltin, one of the accounting industry’s Most Influential People, who advised both Berdon LLP and TIAG on this strategic move. “Berdon joining TIAG, and the other top U.S. firms who are expected to join, marks a watershed moment for TIAG and the TAG Alliances.”

“Berdon is a leader in its market and in the country, and we are thrilled to have them as part of The TAG Alliances, said Robert Sattin, President of the organization. “Now, Berdon and its many clients can begin to receive the special benefits offered through membership. There are many accounting alliances, but none have the access to a Chambers Global “Elite” legal alliance that TIAG has.”

Representatives from Berdon LLP will attend the upcoming TAG Alliances International Conference in Munich, Germany on October 21-24. At the conference, Berdon LLP will be formally introduced to TIAG and TAGLaw members from around the world.
