2023 Most Powerful Women in Accounting
Chief Transformation Officer
How do you envision the accounting profession evolving in the foreseeable future for women?
I believe that women will continue to create new leadership opportunities within the profession that leverage the unique skills and abilities women bring to the table. While we have made incredible progress growing the number of women in leadership roles, as the world continues to evolve faster than it ever has before, I believe women will become even more critical in crafting the future of work within the profession.
What advice would you give to women college students about preparing for a career in the accounting profession?
Be realistic about your priorities and feel empowered to choose what is important to you at different moments in your life. Your accounting career can be everything you envision while you also have the life you value.
How would you advise accounting firms on how they can better attract, retain, and advance more women?
By having formal mentoring and sponsorship programs, organizations can demonstrate their commitment to making access to opportunities equitable and inclusive. Programs like these attract, retain and advance women at a higher rate and benefit all team members.
What is your favorite professional mobile app, and why?
Stitch Fix – I don’t have the time or skill to shop for clothes. I tell a wonderful stylist what I need, they send it to my house, I try it on and send back anything I don’t like. BEST APP EVER to get professional clothing without the hassle.
What do you like to do when you have time away from work?
I recently revived my love for snow skiing and look forward to spending time at the lake in the summer months.
