What are you doing to make a difference in the profession, your community, the world?

Several years ago I committed to a personal mission and called it “saying yes to anything that scares me.” Ever since that day, I have accomplished so much, both personally and professionally, and it has set me out on a path I otherwise would not have known. As a co-founder of a local not-for-profit, FountainHead RI, we have taken something that previously didn’t exist and created an ecosystem of over 1,100 business and community leaders, from across the country, to create a more inclusive, dynamic and better prepared professional community for years to come.

What do you like best about the accounting profession?

I love how diverse the work can be. What an incredible profession where “being a CPA” can mean so many different things. With all that is going on in the world around us, there is no better time to be a CPA. CPAs will remain at the forefront when it comes to business decisions for years to come as business and community leaders look to us to help navigate the uncertain world ahead. Gone are the days of a CPA simply doing tax returns or conducting an audit; CPAs are so much more than that now and I look forward to helping lead the charge into the future.
