The Center for Audit Quality (CAQ) launched a new website, DiscoverAudit.org, to provide a wealth of information about careers in public company auditing, opportunities the profession offers, and how to join the next generation of auditors. The website features resources designed for students, parents, school counselors, and educators.
“Students need to know about the exciting and diverse opportunities that await them in an audit career,” said Cindy Fornelli, CAQ Executive Director. “Accounting and auditing are some of the highest-paying and fastest-growing fields for recent college graduates. The profession offers a dynamic workplace in virtually any sector of the economy and gives young professionals a chance to learn business from the inside out. The CAQ is dedicated to helping the public company auditing profession attract the best and the brightest to serve the ever changing needs of the business community, investors, and capital markets.”
DiscoverAudit.org offers a wide variety of materials including:
- Toolkits on a career in auditing, designed for both a high-school and college audience
- Fact sheets about the profession
- Videos featuring real-life auditors explaining their day-to-day work
- Resources for preparing for a career in audit and for taking the CPA exam
- Profiles based on real-life auditors and the career paths they have chosen
- A forum for students and educators to ask auditors questions or arrange a classroom visit
Discover Audit is a CAQ initiative aimed at introducing the exciting and dynamic world of public company auditing to the next generation. The CAQ launched the website ahead of the second annual #AuditorProud day, a worldwide social media campaign where auditors share stories to build awareness of the many benefits of auditing as a career path. In 2016, #AuditorProud day took place on September 22, and thousands of auditors from more than 100 countries shared their stories.
The DiscoverAudit.org website will be continually updated with new information to help everyone learn more about all the profession offers.
