National Tax Lien Association to host annual conference in Miami

The National Tax Lien Association (NTLA) will host its annual conference at the Eden Roc Renaissance Resort and Spa in Miami, Florida, April 3–5, 2013. The NTLA’s annual conference is the largest and most comprehensive of its kind, and a networking and educational experience for tax lien professionals each year.

Over 250 attendees are expected to convene for the two and a half days of meetings, roundtables, and panel discussions that will feature twenty-five speakers addressing topics such as new tax lien legislation, avoiding bad investments, new investment opportunities, and lending standards.

Additional sessions will provide Sherman Antitrust training conducted by the U.S. Department of Justice, a case study for mass redevelopment, and address the prospective entry of several new states into the tax lien marketplace.

The conference is open to both members and nonmembers, and will attract the most prominent and influential professionals, companies, and government officials in the tax lien industry.

The National Tax Lien Association was incorporated in 1997 and is the largest nonprofit organization of its kind, providing its members with professional and educational resources and representing their collective interests. The NTLA is works to establish positive relationships with government officials involved in the tax lien process, recognizing the significant contributions tax lien investors provide to local government infrastructure and budgeting, and maintaining a code of ethics and standards for the tax lien industry.

Tax lien professionals help fund public services each year by purchasing billions of dollars in delinquent property taxes from local governments in exchange for a modest return on their investment. The association is headquartered in Tequesta, Florida, with Brad Westover serving as its executive director.
