CCH Enhances IntelliConnect Research Platform

IntelliConnect, the award-winning, intuitive tax research system from CCH, has added many new features (available beginning the week of July 5) that will enable researchers get to their answers faster and more effectively than ever before. Now, with the new enhancements, users can access CCH’s superior information and tools even more easily and quickly.

New Enhancements Deliver Big Benefits
CCH worked closely with customers to identify and deliver the latest enhancements. “With these enhancements, we’ve concentrated on changes that make a big difference in the user’s experience as they access all the great assets that CCH has to offer,” said Product Manager Tina Rajski. “From logging in, to printing, to accessing related content, we’re delivering new ways of getting the job done with new levels of accuracy and speed.”

First up, users can get off to a faster start because of changes to the home page. The Browse tree now appears directly on the home page, so when users log into IntelliConnect, they’ll be able to directly access it. “Favorites” can be found at the top of the Browse tree, so they’re also always available on login. “Download” links that provide links to training, tutorials, forms and more have been moved to the home page as well. A publication list on the Browse tree provides an overview of all the publications each user subscribes to on IntelliConnect.

“This gives users another method to find the content they want – faster than ever,” Rajski said. “You can use the publications list by clicking on one of the alphabet letters to use a Table of Content format, or by typing the publication you are looking for right into the search box.”

Customers who previewed the new changes found them intuitive and are pleased with the flexibility that enables them to get a rich set of results.

“I really like the enhancements made to the Home Page. I especially like the ability to browse only Selected Practice Areas,” said Pamela Bustos, Bolar Hirsch & Jennings LLP. “I also like the ability to narrow the practice areas when browsing. This helps to narrow the search results, so that you get more focused results.”

Relate Provides Direct Links, Filters Open Automatically
Selected documents now contain Relate buttons so users can easily access the appropriate related content. For example, on an IRC document, there are Relate buttons for Committee Reports, Regulations, Explanations and Annotations.

“You can now link directly to other documents just by clicking on one of the Relate buttons,” Rajski said. “This direct link saves you time and takes you directly to the information you are looking for. “

When a user performs a keyword search, IntelliConnect will automatically open the filter used in the last searching, saving time.

“The Relate buttons, particularly for the Internal Revenue Code, are extremely useful,” said Racquel Barnes, Tax Supervisor, REDW, LLC. “This is especially helpful in the cases where I’m familiarizing myself with the issue by reading the explanations. It’s very useful to be able to see all the Internal Revenue Code information with one click.”
