Doeren Mayhew, a certified public accounting and advisory firm with locations in Houston and Troy, Mich., has moved from the 23rd to the 15th spot on the Houston Business Journal's annual list of local accounting firms.

Doeren Mayhew, a certified public accounting and advisory firm with locations in Houston and Troy, Mich., has moved from the 23rd to the 15th spot on the Houston Business Journal’s annual list of local accounting firms.

Rankings for the 2013 list were based on the number of CPAs a firm has in the city, with Doeren Mayhew listing 43 CPAs and 105 employees in Houston.

This ranking continues a pattern of sustained growth for Doeren Mayhew and its Houston office, which grew at a double-digit rate throughout 2012, then doubled in size at year end as a result of a December merger with MFR, P.C.

“It is an exciting time for Doeren Mayhew as we continue to grow and add new expertise and leadership on the ground here for Houston businesses,” says Tim Moore, CPA, Doeren Mayhew’s Houston managing shareholder.

“We look forward to the continued benefits we expect our clients and the Houston market to see as our integration progresses.”

Among the key areas of growth for the firm, Moore cites enhanced expertise in industries such as manufacturing, energy, non-profit, construction and financial institutions, as well as additional service offerings in the areas of business advisory, audit, tax planning, payroll services and international company services.
