Indiana CPA Society wins two STAR Awards

The Indiana CPA Society of CPAs has been recognized for by the Indiana Society of Association Executives (ISAE) at the annual STAR Award banquet. The 11th annual STAR Awards were designed to celebrate the accomplishments of the association profession and the individuals who help make the profession in Indiana a success.

Ali Paul, INCPAS leadership and outreach manager, received an Individual Award of Achievement when she was awarded the Rising STAR of the Year. Paul was recognized for her significant contributions to INCPAS and the association/not-for-profit profession. She joined the staff at the Indiana CPA Society in October 2006.

During her six years with INCPAS, Paul she has worked to improve existing programs and has developed new, innovative programs that serve as a model for other organizations. She also has created multiple, highly successful and ground-breaking programs to achieve the goals of of INCPAS diversity initiatives.

In response to receiving the award, Paul said, “I am incredibly honored to receive the ISAE Rising Star award! My professional accomplishments would not be possible without the strong leadership and passion of the INCPAS staff and board. I am beyond lucky to work with so many talented people in an environment that cultivates innovation and creativity.”

Additionally, INCPAS received an Award of Excellence when it was presented with the award for Innovative Membership Program in the over $750,000 annual budget category. The Society was recognized for the restructuring of the recruitment and engagement of INCPAS volunteers.

The Society branded the new system as a way for members to better engage themselves with their professional home and enrich their careers. A campaign of postcards, emails and e-newsletter messages were used to direct members to online volunteer interest forms on the INCPAS website. The Society has more than 300 members actively engaged as volunteers due to the success of the new system.

Courtney Kincaid, INCPAS membership and volunteer manager, accepted the award on behalf of the Society. Kincaid led the project to restructure the Society’s volunteer program with the assistance of other INCPAS staff.

Since 2001, the Society has been awarded with 17 STAR Awards of Excellence including 14 in the past five years. The STAR Awards, which stands for Society’s Top Association Recognition, are given in recognition of an Indiana association’s professionals, activities and programs that are making a difference.

ISAE exists to support and strengthen association professionals’ success. It provides the state’s leading educational and networking events designed specifically for the needs of association executives. Members provide professional leadership to Indiana’s outstanding associations.

These associations include a broad variety of professions, industries, societies and social organizations. Collectively, they represent hundreds of thousands of members throughout the state, country and world.
