Paychex Launches Online Mobile Application for iPad®

Secure, easy-to-use tablet app expands Software as a Service capabilities, offers users access to full suite of online payroll, HR, and benefits products through single account sign-on

Rochester, NY (December 5, 2011) – Paychex, Inc., a leading provider of payroll, human resource, and benefits outsourcing solutions for small- to medium-sized businesses, today announced an expansion of its Software as a Service (SaaS) product offerings for clients with the launch of the Paychex Online Mobile application for the Apple® iPad®.  The free, secure, and easy-to-use app includes a newly unveiled and enhanced landing page and message center.  Employers and their employees sign in once to access the full suite of Paychex online payroll, human resources, and benefits products.

“The Paychex Online Mobile app is the latest example of our commitment to investing in the next generation of technology and products, and delivering them to our clients,” said Paychex president and CEO Martin Mucci.  “America’s businesses increasingly want access when, where, and how it works for them. Our tablet app offers that by giving our clients and their employees complete access to every online product they now use on their PC or laptop, not a scaled-down version.”

Using the Paychex Online Mobile app for the iPad, Paychex Online clients have full access to products including online payroll, online reports, Paychex Time and Labor Online, 401(k), and health insurance. Additionally, the iPad app gives employees of Paychex clients the unique ability to access and make changes to their 401(k) and flexible spending account (FSA) information from an iPad, along with access to products such as W-2s and pay stubs.

Use of the Paychex Online Mobile app requires a Paychex Online Single Sign-on account. Once registered, the same single user name and password used to gain access on a laptop or PC is also used for tablet access.  There’s no additional setup or different login.  Employers don’t have to use the tablet app for their employees to use it.  If the employer has a single sign-on account, an employee can gain access to the tablet app with a user name and password provided by the client’s administrator.

With the launch of the tablet app, Paychex also unveiled a newly expanded landing page and message center that users see when they sign in.  This landing page, or dashboard, has a new, consolidated message center that puts all the immediate information about the products a user has in one place.  And, it provides the full features and functionality of Paychex Online Services.

“With our iPad app, Paychex clients and their employees can do anything that they now do over the Web on a PC or laptop.  They have the same full administrative rights. For instance, clients can input and process payroll.  And not only can employees see their 401(k) balance, they can also go in and make adjustments to their 401(k),” said Michael E. Gioja, Paychex senior vice president of information technology, product management and development.  “We brought the tools our clients need to the surface in our dashboard and presented them in a way that lets users get in and out quickly – anytime, anywhere. That means they can get back to their business faster, which helps boost productivity.”
