Thomson Reuters 31st Annual Users’ Conference to Kick Off November 2

DEXTER, Mich, Nov. 1, 2011—The Tax & Accounting business of Thomson Reuters will kick off its 31st annual Thomson Reuters Users’ Conference for Professional Tax & Accounting Firms on November 2 in San Diego, CA. The longest running professional conference of its kind, the Users’ Conference is expected to draw 1,000 participants from across the country to share insights, exchange ideas, and get hands-on experience with the latest technology and tools in the tax and accounting profession.

This year’s conference will include a focus on mobile technology, which will play a larger role in the tax and accounting profession in the months and years ahead. In addition to providing on-the-go access to practice management tools and client data, mobile devices have become an integral tool for interacting with clients and building stronger relationships, both of which are becoming more important as the prevalence of consumer and small business tax and accounting options for clients increase.

“Technology is a more powerful tool than ever for bringing people together. And our Users’ Conference is a great example of the power of collaboration,” said Jon Baron, president, professional, Thomson Reuters. “Our workshops, keynotes, roundtable discussions, and demo theaters offer a wealth of information, and we have an amazing venue this year right on San Diego Bay.”

Held November 2-5 at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront, the Users’ Conference offers workshops with hands-on software training, product overviews, and more. Topics include practice management and marketing, technology, compliance issues, and firm growth. The conference also offers exciting events that highlight the San Diego area’s culture and heritage, including a private tour of the MCAS Miramar Marine Corps Air Station.

“Things change quickly in the technology business, but the goal of the Users’ Conference really hasn’t changed since we started it back in 1981,” Baron said. “We aim to foster an environment that will help tax and accounting professionals learn, network, and gain insight that they can put to use in their firms immediately, and I think that has really driven the success of the conference over the years.”

The conference also offers roundtable discussions and keynote presentations by profession leaders and motivation experts. This year’s roster of keynote speakers includes Baron; Allan D. Kolton, CEO, Koltin Consulting Group; and Walter Bond, motivational speaker and former NBA player.

The Users’ Conference runs from November 2-5 in San Diego. For more information and registration details, please visit our website at CS.ThomsonReuters.com/UC.
